Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Corporate Pension and Employee Benefits Consultant to join our team. This non-regulated, B2B role involves providing timely and accurate support for Consultants and Management in all aspects of their work with corporate clients. You will assume responsibility for and develop a small corporate client portfolio by providing high-quality advice and consultancy within an agreed budget. Your goal will be to not only meet but exceed both internal and external client expectations.


How you'll make an impact

  • Manage a small client portfolio, anticipating and responding to clients' ongoing and future needs with a prompt and flexible approach.
  • Demonstrate up-to-date technical employee benefits knowledge, advising clients as required.
  • Provide proactive and effective support to Consultants and Management, allowing them to develop new business opportunities.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with both new and existing corporate clients.
  • Assist with client scheme renewals, working closely with the Consultant and administration teams.
  • Acquire detailed knowledge of all technical aspects of corporate schemes, providing guidance to clients.
  • Support clients and scheme members with new enquiries, client correspondence, and information requests.
  • Prepare and finalize client reports and PowerPoint presentations in conjunction with the Lead Consultant.
  • Provide support in campaign management and meeting preparation, including liaising with insurers, administration teams, and clients.
  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets through the retention of existing clients.
  • Ensure all clients are profitable and serviced on the agreed standard/bespoke pricing basis.
  • Assist Consultants in monitoring income to ensure budget achievement and financial control.
  • Proactively identify and progress new business/income opportunities with clients.
  • Ensure adherence to the firm’s engagement and re-engagement procedures.
  • Maintain a diary management system for yourself and the Consultant to enable efficient oversight and intra-team workflow.
  • Manage action points from meetings and ensure all client deadlines and service levels are met.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with internal policies, procedures, applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance, and Gallagher’s shared values.

About You

  • Minimum of A-Level qualifications including English and Maths (ideally educated to degree level), or equivalent.
  • Studying towards or have obtained relevant professional qualifications: Group Risk (CII GR1), Healthcare (CII IF7), Pensions (Pensions Management Institute diploma level).
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • QCF Level 4 (Diploma level PFS or PMI) qualification.
  • Good level of technical knowledge of employee benefits consultancy (Corporate DC Pensions, Group Risk, Healthcare).
  • IT literate – proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and relevant internal systems/databases.
  • Strong consulting skills in communication, questioning, listening, report writing, and presenting.
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements in respect of ‘advised’ and ‘non-advised’ sales.
  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role in Financial Services or financial services administration.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work.
