Cover Supervisor - Secondary School - Immediate Start - Hackney, London

This long-term role offers the chance to gain valuable classroom experience, ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching or for individuals already experienced in working with young people. As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure the smooth running of classes in the absence of regular teachers, managing behaviour and delivering pre-set lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons to students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) across various subjects
• Ensure classroom behaviour is managed effectively, maintaining a positive learning environment
• Support students with any questions or concerns they may have during the lesson
• Monitor student progress and ensure they stay focused on the assigned tasks
• Provide feedback to the regular class teacher on lesson outcomes
• Support the school with additional duties, including break and lunchtime supervision

Essential Criteria:

• Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary school setting
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive and flexible attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational role
• A degree or relevant qualifications
• A desire to pursue a career in teaching or education

Additional Information:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Paid £125 - £140 per day, term time only
• Based in Hackney, London - excellent transport links
• Immediate start with potential for long-term placement
