The Role

As an Inventory Optimisation Specialist within our dynamic Procurement team, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimising inventory levels to ensure a balance between supply and demand while maximising profitability. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks that require a keen eye for detail and a meticulous approach to data analytics. In this role, your ability to scrutinise complex inventory data and extract meaningful insights, the ability to communicate such to wider departments will be paramount to driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness across our supply chain. In addition, you will

  • Inventory Management: Oversee and optimise inventory levels to maintain supply-demand balance.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Demand Forecasting: Accurately forecast demand to inform inventory decisions.
  • Strategic Implementation: Develop and execute strategies to enhance inventory turnover.
  • Cost Management: Analyse inventory costs, including carrying costs, order costs, and stockout costs whilst identifying opportunities for negotiation.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, sales, and operations teams to enhance inventory efficiency.
  • Supplier Management Collaboration: Work with suppliers and procurement team to develop supplier profiles understanding the implications / importance on inventory planning.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Prepare and present inventory performance reports with key metrics, track the impact of optimisation initiatives, provide actionable insights to senior management.

About You

A proficient excel / power BI / tableau / other analytic platforms user, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will bring your previous knowledge and experience of demand planning to the position, meaning the in-depth training you receive from us will be bolstered by your own knowledge and experience. Furthermore, you will have:

  • Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade 5 or above
  • Preferred: A-level or Degree in a business-related subject or field with a strong analytical component
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) or commitment to a CPD plan is advantageous
  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Extensive experience with data analytics and inventory/demand planning software
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and efficiency

If you speak any languages other than English at a fluent level, that would be advantageous to your application; Radwell operates internationally, so any other languages you can speak will always be helpful in this role.
