Summary:

We are the largest fully integrated IT and electronics asset disposition provider and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company in the United States specializing in the environmentally safe and socially responsible management of electronic devices. We’re expanding our recycling businesses and exploring every opportunity to achieve a carbon neutral, circular economy future with our clients and partners. The Intern will work alongside other key team members and report directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer.

The responsibilities will include analysis and research of legislative policies and programs (such as e-waste, batteries, packaging, and solar panels), as well as various sustainability frameworks. Support data collection and management for reporting surrounding the environmental impact of ERI and its clients.

Provide development of ongoing services, reports, and audits as required for clients and regulatory agencies. This support includes regulatory reporting, operational support, and program tracking. Candidate should have experience managing large datasets in addition to strong verbal and communication skills.


This internship program will assist ERI’s Sustainability Team with developing metrics, streamlining existing processes, ensure ERI’s integrity reflects on environmental initiatives and actions. This program provides the opportunity to engage in real-life corporate experience with the focus on legislative compliance and sustainability.


The position is expected at least 20 hours a week during the school year and full-time during the spring or summer.


Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with ERI’s Sustainability Team, various Departments, and third-party to coordinate the core standards into ERI’s operation and supply chains. This position will ensure ERI’s integrity in our environmental claims and actions.
  • Analyzes existing regulations and pending legislation surrounding emerging recycling technologies to identify and improve upon business development opportunities for ERI.
  • Monitors and communicate to internal stakeholders of new and amended Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements.
  • Helps maintain data, reports, contracts required for legislative compliance programs.
  • Supports the team in engaging with third-party on data analysis and validation, complete reports for various sustainability frameworks and certifications.
  • Supports with ERI Sustainability Team’s initiatives and ongoing projects.
  • Communicates compliance issues to management and effectively manage corrective actions as it relates to emerging recycling technologies.
  • Coordinates the core standards into ERI’s operation and supply chains. This position will ensure ERI’s integrity in our environmental claims and actions.
  • Generates and analyze weekly, monthly and quarterly reports both for internal and external use.
  • Monitors and report on project results using and establishing metrics and benchmarks.
  • Contributes information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; executing action plan.
  • Able to provide support for business development with potential partners and clients.
  • Participates in various tasks regards to project development, documentation, evaluation and verification.
  • Reports any ideas for efficiency and continuous improvement to Supervisors.
  • Adheres to all safety and compliance regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

Current status at least a senior or higher level or recent graduate, familiar with sustainability-related topics and trends.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Have general interest in corporate sustainability and e-waste industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, self-organized, and excellent time management.
  • Ability to adapt rapidly changing demands from multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
