The Maintenance Operator is part of a critical team tasked with oversight of equipment and facility maintenance activities supporting our Biotechnology Clinical Trials Manufacturing facility within the Bioproduct Research and Development (BR&D) organization. This team serves as the first responders to any maintenance or operational issues and are tasked with oversight of the facilities as well as solving problems and finding solutions in order to ensure smooth and consistent operations for Clinical Trials Manufacturing within BR&D

Responsibilities:

  • Perform safety related activities such as the issuance of Fire Hazard Permits, Confined Space Entry Permits and Equipment Lockout

  • Limited PM Requester for all Preventative Maintenance work for assigned areas

  • Responsible for the update of Equipment Lockout procedures for assigned areas

  • Perform Operator Based Preventative Maintenance work initiated by the GMARS system, such as elastomer and gasket changes and filter and hose replacements

  • Coordinate maintenance work between craft personnel and operations personnel

  • Assist Senior Lead Technician, Engineers, and craft personnel as necessary for facility maintenance or project support

  • Perform inventory management and receipt of gasses and cleaning chemicals

  • Assist with unloading oxygen tanker and unloading of CIP solutions.

  • Provide operations support for the Dextrose and Biowaste systems

  • Participate in housekeeping walkthroughs and address maintenance issues as needed

  • Investigate and/or troubleshoot process or equipment issues

  • Assist Engineering and operations with root cause investigations

  • First responder to equipment or facility issues

  • Ensures work is aligned with all relevant Quality, regulatory and HSE (Health Safety and Environment) requirements

  • Responsible to ensure that appropriate Post Maintenance Requirements are assigned and completed, including appropriate communication with third parties regarding equipment status and documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma / GED required.

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience working as a journeyman or craftsperson

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with FDA regulated experience a plus

  • Knowledge of utility systems

  • Understanding of OSHA safety practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.

  • Proactive with strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to function under tight timelines.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Great attention to detail.

Physical Demands/Travel:

The physical demands of this job are consistent with a maintenance role in a Manufacturing environment and will require interaction with production equipment. This role requires the ability to crawl under and into tight spaces as well as capability to lift 20lbs.

Work Environment:

This position’s work environment is in a manufacturing facility. This job will be 100% on site, this position is not a remote role.
