Your mission should you accept it: Under the responsibility of the Chief Estimator, the Estimator establishes the quantities of material required, analyzes the costs and contractual conditions for the realization of a potential project and assists in the preparation of bids in order to obtain the contract allowing Borea to carry out the construction. Do you have what it takes? Positive energy and Hold a College diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering; 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in estimating; Communicate easily in English, both orally and in writing; Demonstrate an interest in the renewable energy industry; Excellent knowledge of MS Project, Excel and knowledge of Bid2win (an asset); Demonstrate an intellectual curiosity; Excellent analytical skills, thoroughness and attention to detail; Versatility, autonomy and resourcefulness; Excellent ability to manage pressure and stress. What you will do to complete this mission successfully: Review proposal specifications and drawing and collect all the documents required for the project (construction drawings, specifications, addenda, tender forms and other conditions); Analyze the drawings and specifications, contract conditions and identify to the Chief Estimator the risk and opportunities; Coordinate, with external consultants, the preliminary engineering and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering, quality or availability of materials; Prepare and send technical questions and answers (RFI) to clients; Develop a plan on how to build and plan the project as well as the methods used; Prepare the preliminary schedule of work as well as the optimization of the sequence of work; Prepare and send tender documents to qualified suppliers and subcontractors; Analyze the content of bids received from suppliers and subcontractors; Extract quantities (number of cubic meters, length of roads, etc.) with the company's tools and provide detailed quantity statements; Attend coordination meetings, site visits and evaluate the difficulty of the project to estimate; Estimate project costs with the company software; Prepare project overheads (supervision, general conditions, offices, insurance, specific equipment, safety, quality, etc.); Ensure that the estimate is structured according to the cost breakdowns of the various projects; Be in constant communication with external consultants, subcontractors and suppliers during the bidding process until the contract is awarded; Participate in the closing of bids; Following the awarding of a project contract, participate in the transfer meeting with the construction teams; Other related duties.
