We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and tenacious Investment Manager to join our team. This is a great job for someone with exceptional analytical skills and ability to deliver strategic asset investment outcomes for the Aviva annuity business!

A bit about the job:

This role sits within the Annuity Asset Origination (AAO) team in Aviva UK Life, part of the Chief Investment Officer (CIO)team. This team works very closely with Aviva Investors and a small number of external managers to oversee our annuity business. Within this role you will be working a team who lead on the production of asset return assumptions for annuity pricing, asset origination inputs into annuity business planning and strategy, and insightful asset origination.

Additionally, you will:
  • Produce the asset assumptions for annuity pricing, working with BPA pricing and deal teams, and get approvals to ensure the business remains competitive and profitable throughout changing market conditions
  • Help guide strategic decisions for the annuity business by providing input on asset planning and working with Finance to optimise results
  • Produce regular reports on asset origination, used to update senior stakeholders of performance against targets, informed by current market conditions
  • Create the annual plan for annuity asset origination volumes and projected investment performance, reconciling this with the overall annuity investment strategy
  • Analyse projected asset and liability pipelines to provide updates on optimal timing of origination to key business partners across Finance and Operations teams. Design and develop tools and models to assist with the above tasks

Skills and experience we're looking for:
  • High quality, quantitative degree with a preference for a relevant professional qualification
  • A team-player with a hands-on, proactive approach and an ability to drive forward change and build effective internal networks to deliver results, including a proven track record to prioritise competing projects and keep multiple initiatives running
  • A demonstrated ability to manage and influence key stakeholders, including an ability to write clear, well-structured and easily understood documents and present them to governance committees
  • Ability and willingness to train and project-manage junior team members
  • Working knowledge of VBA and SQL are advantageous
