Role Overview: We are looking for a capable and versatile data analyst to join our global team within a friendly and supportive working environment. We offer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement typically with 2 days/week in our fantastic London SE1 office and the rest from home.


The Role


Working in our Data Pooling team, this role would suit diligent and accurate individuals who enjoy the challenge of delivering data solutions across a whole range of different data sources and projects.

The business is currently going through a period of high growth and significant investment has been made to re-envision the core products and data platforms. This is an exciting time to join the team and help to shape the data management processes going forward.


We require a data professional who is methodical in their approach but who can also see the wider perspective beyond the immediate data. It is essential that you are a strong mathematician, with a rigorous, committed approach to your work, able to meet short term operational deadlines whilst working towards a framework that supports the longer-term business strategy.


Candidates with 3-5 years’ experience preferable.


Key Responsibilities


You will primarily be responsible for processing and distributing one of the Data Pooling Team’s core products plus assisting on a wide range of data initiatives. This core product will have a monthly cadence of data ingestion and processing with a significant qualitative need for end client relations. You will also be encouraged and supported to research and design new effective methods of illustrating, processing and aligning data whilst ensuring that outputs are delivered on time and to the required accuracy


You will manage databases and the modelling of data sets whilst required to work closely with other teams to understand and help formulate wider business needs.

It is imperative that you are also proactive in your role keeping abreast of advances in data processing, data analytics and AI to further modernise current means of delivery. This will include a migration away from excel based outputs, processes and operations to SQL-based operations, dashboards and other front-end strategies.


Knowledge of the alcohol beverage market is helpful but not essential.


Essential Skills & Experience


  • Advanced Excel, with a proven pedigree in using functions. (VLOOKUP/CONCAT/LEFT/TEXT etc) and Macros/VBA.
  • SQL Server/MS SQL/PostgreSQL/SQL querying/query creation.
  • Experience of querying, extracting and modelling data.
  • High diligence and care when manipulating large and repetitive datasets
  • Comfort and sufficient soft skills in dealing with end client relations.
  • Clarity of mind when approaching and processing data, methodical and accurate.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions and processes.
  • Open minded with tasks - Having sufficient latitude to think holistically. Proactive in problem solving and having the ability to think beyond the immediate.
  • Ability to own a data product, manage priorities and work independently as required.
  • Proven success in delivering to agreed timelines and ability to work under tight deadline pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English.
  • A maths, statistics or numeric-based qualification to degree level.
  • Experience of storing and transforming data on cloud platforms.
