Summary:
Reporting to the Finance Director and Head of Business Development, the Events Coordinator for McAleer & Rushe Contracts UK will plan, organise, and execute events to promote the Company’s brand, projects, and client relationships. While primarily based in London, events will also occasionally be held in regional cities across the UK. These include project launches, client appreciation events, industry conferences, and internal events. The role requires strong logistical coordination, creativity, and industry insight to ensure the success of each event.
Main Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Coordination:
- Plan and organise Company events such as groundbreaking & topping out ceremonies, project completions, trade shows, and conferences.
- Develop detailed event timelines, budgets, and project plans.
- Liaise with construction teams, contractors, suppliers, clients and vendors to coordinate event logistics.
- Ensure that all events comply with relevant health and safety regulations, particularly in construction environments.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with venues, service providers, and external event partners.
- Manage venue contacts to ensure cost-effective and quality service delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams as necessary.
Event Marketing & Promotion:
- Collaborate with internal departments to promote events through social media, email campaigns, and other channels.
- Create event promotional materials (flyers, brochures, invitations) and manage event registration processes.
- Manage pre-event communications, post-event follow-ups, and surveys to assess event success.
On-Site Event Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact on event days, managing setup, logistics, and coordination.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the event, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees.
- Oversee health and safety measures, particularly when events are held on active construction sites.
Any other duties as may be required by management.
Requirements
- Experience in coordinating large-scale events, preferably within the construction or related industries.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Candidates should have the appropriate work permit or the right to work in the UK.
