Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Repairs: Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and execute effective repair plans to minimize downtime. Ensure optimal equipment operation by applying relevant technical and engineering standards. Close out all maintenance job cards upon completion of work. Collaborate proactively with production teams to identify and resolve potential problems. Provide timely reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, detailing repairs performed and downtime recorded. Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections and routine checks to determine the condition of equipment. Perform predictive and planned maintenance to detect and address potential failures. Communicate with supervisors and production teams to schedule maintenance activities. Coordinate the availability of parts needed for maintenance routines. Compile written reports on any unusual conditions observed during inspections. Training: Assist in training apprentices by preparing training equipment and providing guidance on maintenance and repair tasks. Ensure apprentices are capable of performing required duties effectively. Compliance: Adhere to established controls and procedures to maintain operational integrity. Report any risks or areas of concern to management. Promote compliance with regulations to prevent wasteful expenditure. Cost Control: Support the effective and transparent use of resources. Monitor costs and expenditures to minimize waste and report any deviations from budgetary limits. Customer Service: Maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers to ensure high-quality service. Identify and resolve issues while upholding the company's core values. Qualifications: Grade 12 Certificate (NQF 4). Trade Test: Electrician or Millwright (NQF 5). Experience: Minimum of up to 3 years of technical and electrical maintenance experience as an Electrician. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous.
