GENERAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Candidates must hold a relevant trade certificate

  • Post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earth moving industry, or hydraulic excavator industry essential.

  • Current Standard 11, a current open drivers’ licence and relevant coal mining certifications

  • Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Health and Management System


DIESEL FITTERS


ABOUT THE ROLE


Providing technical knowledge, support and assistance to Thiess’ maintenance operations. The role will also provide an opportunity to expand your maintenance technical skills and become a leader in the mechanical field.


REQUIREMENTS



  • Diesel Fitting trade certificate.

  • Experience with Liebherr & Hitachi Excavators, CAT 797 and 789 Trucks would be an advantage.

  • Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component change outs and servicing mining equipment.



AUTO ELECTRICIANS & FMS/IVOLVE TECHNICIANS


ABOUT THE ROLE


As an Auto Electrician -



  • Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess servicing and maintenance procedures

  • Complete general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component change outs to a high regard

  • Conduct required inspections to maximise equipment utilisation

  • Provide high-quality installations including mountings, wiring and testing of equipment


As a FMS/Ivolve Technician -



  • You will develop, install, and commission various Wi-Fi, radio and wireless systems.

  • Investigate and resolve faults, and carry out preventative maintenance routines on FMS and machine guidance systems fitted onto Excavators, Dozers, Drills, Trucks, Graders and Light Vehicles

  • Perform the servicing, repair, and maintenance of Fleet Monitoring Systems, Site telecommunications and Wi-Fi links & wireless networks

  • Respond to breakdowns on site FMS and autonomous equipment and networks.

  • Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer-based systems.


ROLE REQUIREMENTS



  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent

  • Refrigerated handling license advantageous

  • Post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earth moving industry, or hydraulic excavator industry.

  • Experience in general service, maintenance, breakdowns, component change outs and proper diagnostics, Computer system JDE, OEM computer-based systems, Cat, Cummins, Hitachi and Liebherr.

  • Experience with systems such as Ivolve, Mine 4 D, Terrain drill profiling data capture with GPS correction, Wenco and Carlson HPGS, DSS Fatigue monitoring, Hexagon Fatigue monitoring, Mi-Blast an/or Trailer mount remote camera systems would be highly regarded.
