Summary:
This position specializes in evaluating children and families in crisis and helping them adjust to acute and/or ongoing medical and/or psychiatric stressors. The position can provide support for inpatient and outpatient medical and psychiatric services or can provide psychiatric assessment to patients in the emergency room. These services may include any of the following: diagnostic evaluations; consultations on the behavioral management of medically and psychiatrically ill children; individual; play and family therapy; case management and disposition planning as appropriate. This position also provides education and practical coping strategies for patients and families.

Responsibilities:
* Provide evaluation and treatment services to patients and families with complex psychosocial needs; provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.
* Case management and disposition arrangements.
* Contribute to program development
* Maintain fiscal accountability and apply problem solving skills that demonstrate responsibility for generating allocated billable and/or patient contact hours.
* Contribute to the teaching mission of the hospital by working with trainees as co-therapists and participating in didactics on topics of own expertise.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

* Masters Degree

Credentials:
Essential:
* Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
* Licensed Marriage-Family Therapist
* Licensed Professional Counselor
* Basic Life Support

Other information:
WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 1 year job related experience Req
* At least 3 years job related experience Pref

EDUCATION
* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Req

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* State of Texas License at a Master's level (LPC, LMFT, LPT, or equivalent) Req
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements 60 Days, Req
