This internship would be onsite in Duluth, MN from May through August 2025.

The Procurement Intern will be working cross-functionally across purchasing, operation and engineering groups to implement the procurement strategy and project timelines. The individual will have a positive influence on the organization’s sourcing requirements and process improvements through lean thinking, problem solving, negotiating and communication updates to meet the assigned goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Assist in the areas of project management, sourcing activity, tactical procurement, process development to include:
  • Collaborate with the COS, engineering and operations teams
  • Gathers feedback from stakeholders
  • Develops business tools and solutions that identify process improvement opportunities through strategic thinking and analysis
  • Measures the success of the implementation area and brainstorms solutions for unanticipated challenges

Required Education/Training:

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Currently pursuing ASCM CPIM certification preferred.

Related Experience:

  • Previous supply chain work experience or internship preferred but not required.
  • Experience related to the following areas; warehouse, supply chain, logistics, replenishment, process improvement, and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and ability to multi-task

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Preferred experience with Epicor Avantè ERP and Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP
  • Proficiency in Material Pull Systems, and an understanding of Materials Requirements Planning functionality and limitations
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail and ability to focus on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be comfortable operating with minimal supervision and ability to prioritize and execute tasks
  • Ability to translate complex data into a simple to understand format
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a wide variety of functions and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally with both a keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to present complex information & concepts in a precise and digestible fashion
  • Comfort in ambiguous situations and ability to work towards goals

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to complete entire duration of internship.
  • Must be able to secure local housing for duration of internship.
