Power Systems Design Engineer – Central London – Fantastic Benefits – Hybrid – Competitive Salary Offered
We are currently working well established multi-disciplinary engineering design consultancy that are leading the way in sustainable design within the mission-critical/ data centre and energy transition sector.
Due to several recent increase in workload, we are looking for an experienced Power Systems Design Engineer to join a very well-established and highly successful consultancy who are market leaders in the data centre and energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications using relevant technical software.
You will prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, drawings, schematics, and other design documents across different stages of project lifecycles.
You will be modelling complex networks and perform steady state studies (load-flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash), dynamic/transient simulation, and harmonic analysis to validate and verify developed design.
You will be running computer simulations, supporting design teams, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of power distribution systems.
Skills and Background
Hold a Degree in Power Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and ideally be a Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with a recognised industry body.
Experience in an Electrical Engineering role within the power systems field, preferably in consultancy or an OEM/ equipment vendor environment, delivering grid substation or renewable projects.
Experience with UK DNO/TO design standards and requirements above 33kV.
Proven ability to produce design documentation such as schematic diagrams, fault and discrimination studies, specifications, and project reports.
You will have experience in Substation Primary Design (FEED/ Detailed), Substation Secondary Design (FEED/ Detailed) or HV Plant Design (FEED/ Detailed) at 33KV or above.
They are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in ETAP, although experience with DigSilent or SKM will also be considered.
