We are seeking a Production Engineer to help us revolutionise the physical and digital music industry. The company has invented a new technology to produce on-demand vinyl records and built a web platform for music creators to create and sell their product worldwide via our store at zero cost. We are working with the leading record labels, streaming services, digital service providers, distributors, and iconic global artists who are keen to partner with us to build a global solution for physical media. It is our mission that any music creator, big and small, will have frictionless access to offer vinyl and CD to their fans via our innovative solution and planned production/fulfilment centres in Europe, USA and Asia.
The vinyl market has been growing on average more than 20% year on year over the last 16 years, more than doubling since 2020. In Japan it grew 40% last year and even CDs are growing for the first time in two decades. Over 30 million creators are releasing their music online today while they are growing 30% a year and represent the fastest growing segment in music. Most of them would like to have their music on vinyl or CD for their friends & family and especially their fans. elasticStage will provide them easy and affordable access via its unique and scalable on-demand tech.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Production Engineer to join our Engineering team as a crucial member that is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our manufacturing process. This role will oversee and monitor production systems, diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, manage maintenance activities, and work closely with hardware and software teams to design and implement critical fixes while driving continuous improvements in the production process.

Key Responsibilities:- Commissioning new machinery and equipment.
- Oversee and monitor vinyl record manufacturing machines to ensure smooth production.
- Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery to minimise downtime.
- Collect process data including measurements made using microscopes and other precision instruments.
- Work with software and hardware teams to implement on-the-fly fixes and improvements.
- Collaborate closely with R&D engineers to integrate new technologies and processes.
- Assist software teams in testing and integrating new control software updates.
- Monitor and manage the production system capacity to meet demand and optimise efficiency.
- Plan and schedule machine usage and maintenance to maximise output.
- Ensure the product meets quality standards through rigorous inspection and testing.
- Implement corrective actions when defects or issues are identified.
- Maintain detailed records of machine performance, maintenance activities, and technical issues.
- Maintain and update documentation like SOPs and operator manuals.
- Manage relevant H&S documentation.
- Management of critical spare parts.
Requirements
- Technical:
- Minimum requirements NVQ / City and Guilds Level 3 / Full apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline or relevant engineering or related technical degree.
- Experience in assembling complex mechanical assemblies and operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery.
- Proven ability to optimize processes and procedures to improve output.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
- Electrical fault-finding knowledge
- Understanding of lean practices and implementing them.
- Ability to contribute to designing and implementing improvements.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Excellent teamwork skills to work effectively with R&D, software, and production teams.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate faults, causes and solutions.
- Ability to work independently effectively.
- Clear written communication for report and SOP writing.
- Experience in mentoring/coaching assembly operators and giving training.
- Managing support from external contractors and suppliers.
