About the role:
A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Islington, London, is searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic HLTA to join their warm and welcoming team. This is a long-term, full-time position that offers you the chance to contribute to a dynamic learning environment and help shape the education of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a vital role in supporting both teachers and students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You will be leading classes in the absence of the teacher, assisting with the planning and delivery of lessons, and providing support to children who may need extra help in catching up with the curriculum. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA looking to step up into a more involved and autonomous role.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a primary setting.
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience leading classes.
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, with experience supporting both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• A passion for education and a commitment to helping every child reach their potential.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead classes in the teacher’s absence, delivering engaging and well-prepared lessons.
• Support the class teacher with the preparation and implementation of lesson plans.
• Work with small groups or individual pupils, offering tailored support to those with additional needs.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure effective learning outcomes.
