We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Head of Content to lead and manage the content strategy and delivery for all sports-related programming across multiple platforms.
This would be a great position for someone who has a deep understanding of the sports industry, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across various teams.
What you’ll be doing…
- Working closely with The Head of Production, Head of Creative and Executive Producers to deliver all of our productions on time, on budget and to the best possible standards.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive content strategy aligned with the clients’ objectives and audience preferences.
- Analysing market trends, audience insights, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for content innovation and differentiation.
- Establishing content goals and KPIs, regularly monitor performance, and adjust strategies as needed to achieve targets.
- Overseeing the end-to-end content production process, from ideation to execution, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality programming across all formats.
- Collaborating with Exec Producers, and other stakeholders to develop compelling content concepts and formats.
- In conjunction with the Head of Production, managing production budgets effectively, optimising resources to maximise output while controlling costs.
- Ensuring adherence to industry standards, legal requirements, and brand guidelines in all content produced.
- Leading a multidisciplinary team of content creators, including researchers, assistant producers, and producers, promoting a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to team members to support their professional growth and development.
- Building strong cross-functional relationships with other departments, such as production, creative and finance/operations, to align content initiatives with overall business objectives.
- Working closely with distribution partners and platform owners to optimise the visibility and reach of sports content across broadcast, digital, and social media channels.
- Developing promotional strategies and partnerships to drive audience engagement, retention, and growth.
- Monitoring audience feedback and performance metrics to iterate on content strategies and tactics for maximum impact.

This role will require late starts/finishes and weekend / bank holiday working where necessary as well as travelling to shoot / outside broadcast locations in the UK and abroad.
Requirements
Who you are…
- You have proven experience in a content leadership role within the sports broadcasting or media production sector and have in-depth knowledge of live sports broadcasting, non-live content and digital content creation.
- You’re an expert in optimising content for digital platforms, social media, and streaming services.
- You’re experienced in working with sponsorship and partnership opportunities to monetise content.
- You have excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire creativity and lead a cross-functional content team.
- You have strong communication and organisational abilities, with a sharp attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- You are familiar with production technology and workflows, including editing software, live streaming, and post-production processes.
- You have extensive experience working with high-profile talent from the world of sports and entertainment.
- You have trusted relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., sports leagues, governing bodies, sponsors, brands and commissioners).
- You are passionate about sport and have a thorough understanding of the sports media landscape.
