Communications Director - temp - perm

My client is a well-known asset manager seeking an experienced communications director for a tempt to perm contractor. We are seeking a candidates from asset management firms with a minimum of 7 years experience in communications.

Overview of the Role:

The communications director will be responsible for managing media relationships across UK region and overseeing a network of PR agencies. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing the PR strategy aligning with retail and institutional business objectives across all asset classes, while integrating broader corporate and brand messaging as needed.

• Acting as the main point of contact for media, building strong relationships with international journalists, and enhancing broadcast media presence.

• Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and offering strategic communication advice.

• Proactively identifying and addressing emerging issues.

• Managing and supporting one direct report.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the network of PR agencies setting objectives and collaborating with the marketing and sales teams to define a strategic PR approach.

• Lead PR initiatives, such as managing the delivery of key reports and projects across international markets.

• Contribute to the development of a global media training program.

• Act as content editor and curator, managing social media exposure and coordinating PR activities with fund managers and senior executives.

• Handle internal communications.

• Perform additional duties as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in public relations, with expertise in managing media relationships.

• Must have worked within well-known asset manager.

• Demonstrated creativity in communication strategies.

• Strong writing skills.

• Knowledge of both online and offline media.

• Experience working with or managing PR agencies.
