Job Description

Job Title: Digital Insights and Reporting – External Affairs Campaigns

Start Date: December

Length: Six months (possibility of extension)

Location: London (Hybrid) potential travel to Brussels and Paris



This contractor role supports the Manager of Digital Insights and Reporting in the development and enhancement of key reporting tools and assists with strategic initiatives related to external affairs campaigns. The role provides a unique opportunity to influence decision-making and campaign performance by creating and managing metrics, data visualizations, dashboards, and providing business insights.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Metrics and Analysis: Design and improve metrics to drive strategic decisions and campaign effectiveness.
  • Reporting Assets: Develop and enhance reporting tools, including data visualizations and dashboards, to deliver actionable insights.
  • Strategic Influence: Use insights to guide strategy, improve performance, and inform decision-making.
  • Political Landscape Immersion: Understand political contexts to inform campaign strategies, particularly for tobacco harm reduction efforts.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data using tools such as SQL, Excel, PowerBI, Google Analytics, and Sprinklr, turning complex data into actionable insights.
  • Behavioral Insights: Assess online behaviors, identifying key influences and trends to improve digital campaign performance.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Provide guidance on digital media planning, partner selection, and campaign measurement, offering clear, data-driven recommendations.
  • Campaign Performance: Support the monitoring and optimization of campaign performance, proposing new solutions for improvement.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with agencies and consultants to ensure smooth execution of campaigns and reporting.
  • Technical Understanding: Master complex policy issues impacting the industry and translate them into clear, actionable insights.



Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in major corporations, issue advocacy, consultancies, or political organizations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to connect disparate data sources to produce compelling insights and trends.
  • Political Awareness: Interest in political dynamics with the ability to extract politically relevant data.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting complex information clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to managing data and insights.
  • Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects, often under tight deadlines, with external partners or agencies.
  • Digital Savvy: Familiarity with digital channels and social media strategies.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and work confidentially.



Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with think tanks or in public affairs.
  • Social media expertise and understanding of how online influence is shaped.
  • Familiarity with AI projects is a bonus.
  • Ability to draft and create presentations (e.g., slide decks) to communicate insights and strategies effectively.


This role is ideal for a candidate with a political or public affairs background, a strong grasp of digital insights, and the ability to provide actionable recommendations in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
