Contract type: Fulltime
Salary: £27,000 - £32,000
Contractual hours: 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm

Job Purpose
Working within the Visa Compliance Team and acting as a point of specialist reference for all matters relating to International Student Credibility to enable the College to recruit and retain international students in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
The Credibility Interview Officer is responsible for conducting thorough and detailed interviews to assess the credibility of applicants. This role involves evaluating the authenticity and accuracy of information provided by applicants, ensuring that all relevant procedures and regulations are adhered to, and making informed recommendations based on interview findings.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out structured interviews with applicants to verify the authenticity of the information provided in their applications.
- Assess the consistency and credibility of responses given by applicants, cross-referencing with documentation and other evidence.
- Thoroughly examine all supporting documents submitted by applicants to ensure they meet the required standards and are genuine.
- Make well-informed recommendations regarding the credibility of applicants based on interview outcomes and document verification.
- Prepare detailed reports on interview findings and maintain accurate records of all interactions and decisions, including uploading videos and updating relevant CRMs.
- Ensure that all interviews and evaluations comply with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- Stay updated with the latest policies, procedures, and best practices related to credibility assessments and interviews.
- Work closely with other departments, such as recruitment, admissions, legal, and compliance, to ensure a comprehensive approach to applicant evaluation.
- Provide constructive feedback to applicants when necessary, explaining any issues or concerns identified during the interview process.
- Ensures the delivery and continuous development of an effective and flexible service in a way that reflects the University’s values-based behaviours and results in the efficient operation of the CAS and Credibility team.
- Review and monitor information provided by UKVI and the HE sector regarding trends in credibility issues and international recruitment and have up to date knowledge in this area.
- Interface with customers, agents, and stakeholders, provide detailed advice and guidance, identify issues, and provide effective solutions in a timely manner to ensure customer expectations are managed. For example, the role holder will impartially interview applicants needing credibility checks and maintain accurate and unbiased files outlining decisions and escalating more serious cases to senior management as appropriate.
- Carry out appropriate communication and information sharing. For example, the job holder will communicate with team of potential risks with trends within international market during interviewing process.
- Deliver excellent customer service in all aspects of the role.

Experience
Previous experience in interviewing, compliance, investigation, or a similar role is highly desirable.
