THE ROLE

We're looking for an Edit Assistant to join our editorial team and support the delivery of industry-leading creative materials for the entertainment industry. Your collaborative and intelligent approach to assisting in the handling of AV marketing materials will drive creativity that is talked about and adds value for our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist editors in their mission to create concepts and solutions that meet project briefs.
  • Ensure all Edit Assist duties are completed to the highest standard including but not limited to the below:
  • Source high-resolution media from archive, client, rights holders, online or purchase for finishes.
  • Source dialogue in various languages.
  • File exports of multiple codecs.
  • Shot selects for editors.
  • Shot strings for high-res requests.
  • Dialogue breakdowns of features and episodes.
  • Cue sheet and script transcription.
  • Proactively support the wider team and have the adaptability to pick up ad hoc tasks from the Editorial and Finishing teams.
  • Download/log and ingest content.
  • Create workspaces and assist in the potential restoration of projects.
  • With support from Senior Editors, constantly develop your understanding of all areas of Editorial and aim to broaden your knowledge of the latest creative and marketing trends and how they could be used.
  • With the Producers, liaise on any upcoming creatives that require high-res material and dialogue.
  • Ensure all assets you work on are always thoroughly QC’d for technical errors before exporting for the producer to share with the client.
  • Raise any issues that need support and work with your line manager and team to resolve.
  • Practice edits and share them for constructive feedback as part of your development.
  • Source finishing assets ahead of the lock so that finishes are fast and efficient.
  • Creating and updating content trackers for multi-title sizzles
  • Be responsible for QC’ing your own work and files for final delivery for client.
  • Where necessary support/ cover the Media Assistants to ingest/download media.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally, you will have some experience in an agency, production company, studio or broadcaster.
  • Have excellent communication skills ensuring all correspondence is accurate and within a timely manner.
  • Have a good awareness of editing techniques, music editing, sound design, plugins and identify how they can elevate a creative.
  • Always performing to a high standard in an environment requiring high end, originated work through to high volume, localised content
  • Be able to prioritize your workload in order to hit all deadlines, communicate with all involved of your schedule and update with any changes.
  • Have a good understanding of Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro and aim to improve your knowledge at every opportunity.
  • Be a clear thinker, remain calm under pressure and able to make quick, well-informed decisions with a strong attitude to teamwork
  • Understand different forms and structures of short form AV marketing assets.
  • A demonstrable love of cinema and TV.
