Context

Nexans has engaged in rotating its business portfolio towards electrification through targeted organic growth and through both disposal and acquisition of assets. The strategy and Corporate finance teams are in charge of this transformation and cover the process end to end: strategy definition, portfolio optimization, M&A process (target screening, qualification, due diligence and deal execution, post-merger integration), Financial Modelling. Nexans is looking to recruit 2 interns to grow our talent pool and reinforce the strategy and Corporate functions.

Areas of responsibilities

This role will involve working closely with the Strategy, M&A, and Corporate Finance teams to:

  1. Build research, analyses & associated syntheses at different stages of the group strategy definition or M&A processes, covering a broad range of topics such as:
    • Growth strategy
    • Industrial strategy definition
    • Business units turnaround and optimization
    • Market analysis
    • M&A target screening, company analysis, business plan & synergies calculation
  2. Be involved in the definition of the group strategy and its communication:
    • Internally: C-level syntheses and action plan follow-up material to support decision making.
    • Externally: support in market presentations (e.g. Capital Market Day, Investor Relations, Universal Registration Document).
  3. Support in building and maintaining comprehensive financial models to help Management monitor Group financial performance and engage with external stakeholders (investors, research analysts, rating agencies, etc.).

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Good written and oral communication; can easily convey messages in a concise way.
  • Excellent synthesis and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Pack Office (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Persuasive and decisive.
  • Energetic and tenacious.
  • Collaborative.

Preferred qualifications:

  • End-of-course internship.
  • Fluent English oral and writing skills.
  • Proven strategy and finance skills, as well as mathematical acumen.
  • Proven presentation skills.
  • A first experience in strategy consulting or within a group strategy function, investment bank, audit/transaction services is a plus.
