Role & Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the products and disease areas that you work in
- Develop the ability to move beyond managing actions and tasks to taking ownership and accountability for individual projects, showcasing the ability to think ahead and develop project plans and bring them to completion
- Familiar with social media channels and how to use them
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of the media and develop an ability to identify news hooks and story angles
- Adept at selling in on media campaigns and starting to develop a portfolio of press contacts across all media
- Consolidate writing skills, preparing key press materials, correspondence and client information as well as drafting elements of complex written materials e.g. disease backgrounder/factsheet, infographic or website copy, initial draft press release, internal communications, or social media copy
- Support senior team with research for proposals and new business pitches, providing comprehensive and insightful summaries
- Build good rapport with clients and offer advice where necessary – becoming a point of contact for clients on the projects you are working on
- Build an in-depth knowledge of the health industry and client environment
- Keep updated on new developments within PR and marketing, including competitor activity
- Keep updated on the relevant regulatory codes and legislation (ABPI, MHRA and other regulatory bodies that impact client business)
- Manage time effectively, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines
- Take responsibility for the basic financial elements of client accounts, e.g. budgeting, time management and cost controls
- Increasingly contribute to account planning and brainstorming meetings and support senior team with the development of proposals
- Effectively delegate and support the development of junior team members to ensure deadlines are met, and projects are delivered compliantly and to a high standard.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to the team
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in a healthcomms agency
- A relevant university degree preferred
- Excellent organisation and administration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Systematic and logical approach to planning
- Experience supporting communications or marketing campaigns and ability to form relationships with clients/suppliers
- Strong writing skills and close attention to detail
- Computer literate with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience using social media e.g. X, LinkedIn, etc
