Job Description
The incumbent serves as an intern in the FMC Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Pathways Program. The purpose of this position is to provide a formalized, intern training program involving the practical application of professional auditing/accounting principles, procedures, processes, regulations, and reference materials. Assignments will be configured to build training experiences to provide a solid foundation to prepare the incumbent for an audit position.

Job Requirements
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: For the GS-04 grade level: You must have completed 2 full academic years (60 semester hours) of post-high school study or an associate's degree. Pathways Student Internship Eligibility Program Requirements: Must be a current student (or accepted for enrollment) at an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, or trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled) pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. You must maintain student eligibility and enrollment for the duration of the internship. If you do not maintain eligibility and enrollment, you are ineligible for this program. You must enter into a Pathways Agreement. Every semester, you must maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Meet the qualification standards (e.g., series and grade). It is your responsibility to ensure your resume states complete information for each job entry. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year (MM/YYYY), and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume. If your resume does not provide enough information regarding your work history for us to make a creditable qualification determination, your application package may be rendered disqualified and you will no longer be considered for this position. PROGRAM COMPLETION AND CONVERSION ELIGIBILITY: This position is eligible for conversion to a term or permanent position upon successful program completion with promotion potential up to the GS-13 grade level. However, it is important to remember that eligibility for conversion does not guarantee you will be offered a term or permanent position. To be eligible for conversion, interns must meet the following requirements: Complete at least 640 hours of work experience acquired through the Internship Program prior to or concurrent with completion of academic requirements; Complete educational requirements (as specified in the announcement); Meet the Office of Personnel Management's qualification standard, including any applicable positive education requirement and/or selective placement factors and any other special qualifications requirements and conditions of employment (e.g. medical standards) appropriate for the specific competitive service position to which the intern will be converted. Your transcripts/proof of enrollment must show that you are working towards a degree in auditing or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. If you do not graduate with a degree in one of these fields or meet OPM's qualification standard for the target position, you will be ineligible for conversion to a term or permanent performance auditor GS-0511 position. Successfully complete all the requirements of the Internship Program as defined in the agency-participant agreement; and Perform the job successfully as documented through performance evaluations and/or completion of an Individual Development Plan (IDP).
