Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Repair & Maintenance : Oversee the repair and maintenance of all lifting equipment, including electrical hoists, wire hoists, and chain hoists. Inspection & Testing : Conduct inspections and assist the Lifting Machine Inspector with load testing and equipment inspections. Preventative Maintenance : Perform routine preventative maintenance on hoists, overhead cranes, and other mechanical/electrical equipment. Documentation : Maintain accurate records of service and inspection activities, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and filed appropriately. Breakdown Maintenance : Address mechanical breakdowns and conduct troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, and performing necessary repairs. Installation Support : Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Safety Compliance : Adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and OHSA requirements, ensuring compliance in all tasks. Maintenance Scheduling : Use the planned maintenance system to execute maintenance schedules, including shutdown and inline maintenance. Contractor Oversight : Supervise contractors on site as required, ensuring that work is performed to company and industry standards. Cross-Departmental Support : Provide maintenance support and assistance to other departments as needed. Essential Requirements: Qualifications : Qualified Fitter or Millwright with a recognized trade test. Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment. Certifications : Preference will be given to candidates with LMI (Lifting Machine Inspector) or LTI (Lifting Tackle Inspector) registration. Physical Requirements : Ability to work at heights without medical restrictions. Transport : Must have own reliable transport. Work Schedule : Ability to work overtime, shifts, and be available for standby or emergency work at short notice. Personal Attributes: Positive Attitude : Willing to learn and tackle challenges proactively. Problem-Solving : Ability to identify problems and take ownership of their resolution. Reliability : Punctual, dependable, and committed to maintaining high standards of work. Team Player : Able to work collaboratively across departments and with external contractors.
