Sales Engineer Job Description - Recruitment Process 2024 Manage the sales process for the entire TIMKEN Product range Translate technical requirements from drawings to ensure correct product is supplied Establish relationships and professional credibility with customer base Manage customer enquiries via phone and email Raise customer quotations for their requirements Work with other associates to develop and deliver cost saving solutions Through an understanding of customer drivers, build ability to influence customer decisions pertaining to new solutions, products and prototype applications Build sales competencies in discovering hidden customer needs, representing customer needs, handling objections, etc. Facilitate customer interaction and coordinate with Marketing, Customer Service, Customer Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and other functional areas Work with Customer Engineering on complex system analyses, including bearing selection on non-standard part number or types Obtain application details from customers (including new or atypical designs) Sales Plan Execution: Collaborate with sales manager to develop customer-based sales plan including sales, won/lost business, pricing plans, new business attainment Learn to gather and submit customer and market knowledge New Business Development and support of current business Evaluate competitors’ products and selling/market strategy Project Assignments: Responsible for projects as assigned and directed by sales manager May deliver customer-training or internal training presentations Work closely with key suppliers to gain information required for quoting accurate lead times and material costs for new items Raise and issue internal KPI’s for delivery performance and quotation success Skill/Knowledge Technical background (general industry preferred) Experience in sales and familiar with project business Professional use of professional social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn) Commercial mindset and a clear focus on strategic and profitable projects Fluent English is mandatory (company language) Other languages are an additional asset Time management Personality: Empathy and a strong appearance Negotiation skills and high persuasiveness Highly self-motivated Team player with independent working style Willingness to succeed Open for changes and personal development Encouraged to go new ways and high interest and curiosity on new opportunities Willingness to travel extensively for meetings with Key Accounts and/or for Strategic Projects Profile: Ideally a mechanical engineer with sales of industrial goods experience.
