Purpose of the Job The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support to maintenance activities (on site or by remote) on Railway Signalling Systems operated by the Alstom domestic and international Customers. The role includes the responsibility to be the technical Customer interface in global service maintenance contracts and to manage warranty obligations on the projects in the scope of Alstom Bologna, being the Warranty work package owner in charge of QCD (quality, cost and delivery) KPI. Position in the Organization The position will be part of Services Signalling Business Unit Organization - Maintenance and Technical Assistance team. Network & Links Internal relationships with other Alstom functions: System and Product, Application Engineering, Industrialization, Supply chain departments, Installation. External relationships with Customer infrastructure operators and maintenance technicians. Responsibilities and Accountabilities The person will be responsible for: System performance monitoring; Execution and supervision of HW and SW system upgrade; Technical expertise with product engineering in case of unknown bug or unknown behaviour; Providing Customer feedback in order to improve products and meet Customer's needs; Providing training to Customer maintenance staff; Definition and implementation of Maintenance and technical assistance plans; Coordination and support to maintenance technicians on field; Providing support to Service organization in the definition of maintenance strategy in tenders and offers; Cooperation with product engineering in the definition of maintainability requirements during the product’s design phase. The position also includes the availability to perform activities outside of the Bologna Alstom site and to be part of the team that supports by remote H24 the customer maintenance team. Educational Requirements Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Degree in Mathematics/Physics will also be considered. Technical competencies: Knowledge of electronic design principles and methodology. Basic knowledge of the most common operating systems. Basic knowledge of the most common network protocols (TCP/IP, etc.). Capability to interpret electric drawings and schemes. Capability to use test tools (oscilloscope, wave generator, multimeter, etc.) will be a plus. Knowledge of railways signalling systems and principles will be a plus. Behavioural competencies: Capability to perform analysis and relate information from different contexts. Capability to work in a team and attitude to problem solving. Capability to work under stress and in urgent conditions. Experience At least two years of experience in an Electronic/Electromechanical company as on-site or remote technical assistance is desirable. New graduates will be evaluated. Languages: Italian: excellent level written and spoken. English: good level written and spoken.
