Job Description
Our client is a well known food manufacturing company based in the Western Cape, Stellenbosch and currently looking for a Finance & Management Accountants to assist in the financial processing, reconciling and reporting of financial information of a factory within a centralized accounting environment. The purpose of the Management Accountant is to provide financial support to the business, w within the specific function (Industrial), through the relevant analysis of information using insight and judgement. The end result is to drive the business objectives while supporting improved quality decision making. Duties & Responsibilities Management of Accounts payable, Accounts payable staff, and review of accounts payable reconciliations. Assuming responsibility for the financial function and processes of the plant up to trial balance. Assisting the Financial Manager in monthly cost analysis exercises. Assisting the Financial Manager in ad hoc projects relating to the finance function. Preparing and processing of month end journals. Performing general ledger reconciliations Assume responsibility for the financial administration of fixed assets information Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures Checking that effective internal control procedures are on all financial functions. Weekly information preparation and assisting in financial reporting Monthly preparation of all industrial files reported internally and corporate level. Consolidation of the industrial files for current month and previous Specific focus to be placed on action plans and monitoring of actions in forthcoming months. Upload monthly industrial files on IPM (Industrial Production Management) timeously on FTP site per accounting calendar. Milk balance between Milk Collection and the Plants. Work closely with milk collection to understand the solids delivered to plant and impact. Review with Milk Collection on weekly basis the variances between Paid and Received. Weekly reviewing the GMP (solids tracking) on the system with focus on daily Understanding the internal flow and analytical review done by internal laboratory. Direct involvement with all the Plant Financial Manager and Production Accountants on the weekly and monthly Visiting all the plants at least once a month to review the stock takes, reporting and balance sheet review. Enhancement of the labour tracking files and other KPI driven analysis e. raw material, DCO, chemicals, no- quality, packaging and ingredients. Saving file is accurately compiled by the respective plants with focus on the KPIs and not variances based on volume and Major focus point on a monthly basis will be the savings files versus previous year and budget to be accurately compiled. Work closely with Information Technology Department to enhance the reporting of the industrial files so that there is more automation of information. Can be developed in BI-Cube or alternatively system reporting. Automation of industrial files w here possible. Make the workload of Plant Financial Manager less on capturing but more on analysis Financials Review purchase price variances in Industrial versus Procurement with reconciliation between the two Departments reporting. Review stock losses monthly INV019. Review stock days on packaging, ingredients, consumables and spares INV032. Review open orders on system ACP012. Review usage and price variances INV017 / PUR027 Budget Assist with the consolidation of the budget and ensure variances are explainable on all the areas of the Cross balancing with the various Interdepartmental Professionalism Support other departments Required qualifications, experience and Skills B.Com or equivalent CA (SA), CIMA advantageous Good analytical skills. High accuracy and attention to detail. Good problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Supervision experience necessary Must be computer literate, have integrated system experience and advanced excel knowledge advantageous CIMA/Cost and Management Accounting degree At least an Accounting Degree preferably with Honors or post graduate qualification Good analytical skills Accuracy and details orientated Computer literacy: Excel and related MS Office Packages At least 3 years post qualification experience in a financial function Experience in a FMCG environment Know ledge of BPCS System or similar ERP System and Reporting Tools Preference to experience with in the Dairy Industry Know ledge of a standard costing system (preferably BPCS) and understanding of profitability analysis Collaborative Management Style A resilient individual with excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills Customer oriented, assertiveness and problem-solving skills Result driven, business acumen and good decision-making as w ell as strong leadership skills Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work independently as w ell as part of a team Advanced Excel Skills
