Hivebrite is an all-in-one community management and engagement platform. Our mission is to provide organizations with the tools they need to create impactful communities.
Our SaaS platform serves customers across a variety of industries including higher education, non-profit, and corporate. Founded in 2015, today we count more than 900 customers worldwide - including Boeing, the Obama Foundation, the National Academy of Sciences, the University of Notre Dame, the U.S. Naval Academy, the British Heart Foundation, the Imperial College London, the P&G Alumni France, and Le Wagon Alumni.
Earlier this year we have acquired Orbiit, an innovative started who created a matchmaking algorithm with AI and Machine Learning to deepen community engagement and drive member retention for organizations across sectors.

YOUR ROLE WILL BE
- As Senior Engineer you will take significant, open-ended segments of our Python backend and transform them into resilient, scalable systems.
- Your primary objectives will be to keep developing Orbiit as a stand-alone product but also ensuring its integration within the Hivebrite solution
- You'll be iterating on features, prototyping solutions, and refining them to enterprise standards.
- You'll work independently and collaboratively to drive initiatives to full completion without any support. This is a senior-level position suited for professionals who have thrived in fast-growing companies and are excited to build an elite engineering culture.
YOUR MISSION WILL BE
- Building, testing, and maintaining our data processing services using Python, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our platform
- Building and improving our matching algorithms and systems
- Developing new algorithms optimized for real-time recommendations.
YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF
- Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience
- 8+ years of Python experience in production systems
- 3+ years of experience in a startup between 10-100 employees
- Experience with GCP (ideal) or AWS in production environments
- Extensive experience with MongoDB or No-SQL databases
- Experience with PyTorch in production environments
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with React and GraphQL
- You already have an entrepreneurial experience
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
- Meet Ruben, our Tech Recruiter, for a first video-call to better understand your career plan and answer any of your questions (60 mins).
- Meeting with Luuk (Engineering Manager) to talk about the current tech challenges, the team and the way we work. There will also be a live coding exercice (60 mins).
- Meet 2 Senior Backend Engineers to tackle a technical architecture review exercise (90 mins).
- Meet Tarek, our CPTO, to speak about your long-term involvement with us (60 mins).
