Job Description
Are you a Design Engineer with 5+ years on bridge and structural refurbishment projects?
Are you familiar with Network Rail engineering standards?
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000, with additional benefits including car allowance or company car (up to £350/month)
Location: 2 options for office locations near Sheffield. 3 days in office per week, 2 days from home.
Essential requirements:
Minimum 5 years' experience in bridge/structural engineering design.
Knowledge of Network Rail engineering standards.
Proficiency in MicroStation software is preferable.
Relevant degree in engineering
Working towards membership in a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE) is preferred.
Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills, with the ability and desire to guide junior team members.
Responsibilities:
Oversee engineering aspects of NR schemes focused on bridge refurbishments and station strengthening projects.
Lead and mentor graduate engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and development support (no direct line management).
Work collaboratively with senior team members to ensure projects meet client requirements and industry standards.
This is an SME is known for delivering high-impact infrastructure and rail projects throughout the UK. The selected candidate will play an instrumental role in upcoming NR schemes with the potential to progress into a design CRE role. Interviews are flexible, with an initial Teams interview, followed by an in-person meeting
