Teaching Assistant Sports Coach - November start - Blackburn
Prospero Teaching are looking to recruit recent Sports Coaches and graduates who have an ambition to work in education, either at a school or alternative provision. You will be required to provide academic and behavioural support to pupils with SEMH needs. The role will start from September and will be or on a full time basis until July 2025.
This is a perfect opportunity to for those who are looking to gain experience for a future PGCE application or those just wanting a career in educational support.
We are specifically looking for Sports Graduates to work in an alternative provision in Blackburn to provide assistance in the classroom and to act as role models for some of the most vulnerable young people in the community. The school thrive on having a pastoral, therapeutic, holistic approach across the school in all departments. Your role would be to work as part of the supporting team on a 1:1 or small group basis, using your sports knowledge to engage students in their studies and school life.
To be considered for this role it is essential that you hold a valid, full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS -
· Location - Preston
· Position - SEMH Teaching Assistant Sports coach
· Type of work - Classroom Support
· Position start date - November 2024
· Full time
· Minimum rate of pay - GBP95+ per day
· Hours - 8.30am - 4pm: Monday - Friday (Term Time Only)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS -
· Sports Coaching qualification
· Previous experience working/coaching children.
· GCSE Maths & English
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
· Hold Right to Work in the UK
Be able to work full time during term time
· Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
· Provide two professional references that cover the last 2 years employment/education
