Job Description

Location: Cape Town / Johannnesburg Job Type: Contract Area: National Duties and Responsibilities: Managing the Training Department as a whole and the delivery of its training programme. Maintaining the accreditation of the courses and facilitate accreditation of non-accredited courses. Recruiting/line managing course leaders/ ATA Administrators and tutors. Working with the Managing Director to establish the Training Department budget for each financial year and working to meet or improve upon a balanced budget throughout the year. Dealing with any complaints relating to the work of the Training Department. Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. Controlling functional area budgets with the functional heads, ensuring plans are achieved on time and at desired level of quality. Ensuring staff are on track and skilled to perform the jobs they are required to do Teaching and learning responsibilities including teaching, assessment, lecturing and materials development monitoring. Ongoing administration related to teaching and learning activities Ongoing training and development of staff Organising and chairing Training Department meetings. Attending and contributing to Sales Meetings. Writing reports relating to the work of the Training Department. Overall strategic management of the students/training. Leading the planning and delivery of graduation events. Ensuring the Training Department content on the website is kept up-to-date and attending to other marketing needs. Developing the training programme with reference to the agreed Business Plan. Other relevant duties commensurate with the position. Requirements: National Senior Certificate and Tertiary Qualification Relevant, up to date workplace experience in the Education, Training and Development sector. Knowledge of numerous Customer service practices. Leadership and management skills. Problem solving and decision-making skills. 3 to 5 years senior management experience with multiple task responsibilities including budgeting, people management, customer service, planning, organising, and controlling Project management experience. Working knowledge of skills development, learnerships, reporting requirements, and education legislation and policy. Programme development and teaching and learning in area of expertise. Quality assurance. Policy development and implementation Character Traits: Calm disposition must be able to motivate and coach to success Ability to cope under pressure and prioritise effectively Well organised Big picture thinker but able to take action Creative and able to take initiative to solve problems and manage situations
