Job Description
CONTEXT
Within the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Environment & Circular Economy department, under the direction of John Dulac, Group Climate Change Manager
The EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) - a "cap and trade" system to reduce emissions via a European carbon market - covers emissions for more than 10 000 energy and industrial installations. Free (CO2) allocations under the EU ETS are diminishing, with growing implications for companies either to invest in measures that reduce their carbon footprint, or to buy carbon credits on the market.
In the context of Saint-Gobain's obligations under the EU ETS, and in line with the Group's sustainable development strategy and its commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050, the Environment and Circular Economy Department aims to strengthen its reporting and analytical capacities to assess risks and opportunities for its EU ETS sites.
DESCRIPTION DU POSTE
Principal Role :
Assist the Group Climate Change Manager in strengthening the Group's EU ETS analysis and reporting tool.
Missions :
Under the responsibility of the Group Climate Change Manager:
* Collect information and perform analysis on EU ETS data and trends (market research, data collection and analysis, Group benchmarking and comparison…)
* Support relevant tasks in the context of environment reporting on energy and emissions (analysis of CO2 roadmaps, comparison of CO2 performance….)
* Update the Group's ETS reporting tool and support improvement in its analytical capacities (trends, functionalities, data dashboards…)
