SEND Learning Support Assistant – Support vocational/foundation courses

£14.61 per hour (increases to £17.40 after 12 weeks)
Long-term contract
A well-known further education college in London is looking for a Learning Support Assistants to provide in-class support to a students taking up vocational/foundation courses. The college has a large provision for students, some who have just left secondary school and others who are taking vocational. Some students have Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND), however, only moderate needs. This may include autism and ADHD.
The Role
In this role you will be supporting a student aged between 16 – 19 years. You will be working 1 to 1 with your student. This role is a PART-TIME role. The hours are 9am to 4pm and Monday to Wednesday/Thursday. Must be a minimum of 3 days.
The college are looking for a candidate who has experience in media studies support or a keen interest in media, as well as Teaching Assistant experience in SEND and/or mainstream role. Personal care (feeding and changing) will be required, so experience in this area is essential due to the need of the student.
The Centre
The college has centres in Kings Cross, Victoria, Soho and Regents Park). It is one of the largest post-16 college group in London. The college boasts a dedicated and experienced management and staff team and its excellent training and development programmes. The Centre operates mainly during term-time only and is easily accessible via public transport.
