Job Description
As a Fire Safety Consultant, you will be a crucial part of the team, providing design guidance on fire safety engineering and ADB solutions to meet Part B of the Building Regulations. You will review and comment on fire engineering strategies, contractors' proposals for fire safety measures, and inspect installed measures on site. Additionally, you will ensure the accuracy of as-built record data, advise clients on fire safety measures in existing buildings, and produce comprehensive findings and recommendations reports. Your role will also involve conducting PAS 9980 assessments, supporting the production of building safety cases, and producing fire strategies in accordance with ADB, BS9991, and BS9999.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide design guidance on fire safety engineering and ADB solutions to meet Part B of the Building Regulations.
Review and comment on third-party fire engineering strategies.
Review and comment on contractors' proposals for active and passive fire safety measures in new buildings.
Inspect installed active and passive fire safety measures on site.
Ensure the accuracy of as-built record data, including test certificates.
Advise clients on active fire safety measures in existing buildings.
Investigate current fire safety measures in occupied buildings and produce findings and recommendations reports.
Undertake PAS 9980 assessments and research for DLHUC through our Building Regulations and Building Safety analytical contract.
Support the production of building safety cases.
Produce fire strategies in accordance with ADB, BS9991, and BS9999.
Provide training to clients and residents.
Produce fire safety-related clauses for client development briefs and employers' requirements.
Prepare and issue fee proposals.
Manage projects, including finances.
Attend client and design team meetings as required.
Assist the Partner and Director in developing fire safety services.Requirements:
Proven experience in fire safety consultancy.
Strong knowledge of UK fire safety regulations and standards.
Excellent communication and client management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.In Return?
