Underwriting Risk & Capability Manager
Salary Circa £50,000
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Underwriting Risk & Capability Manager to join our team. This is a great job or someone with a baseline understanding of the financial lines market and outstanding stakeholder management skills. This multidimensional role will draw upon your experience in identifying and analysing risk as well as engaging with our brokers at a senior level!
A bit about the job:
In this role you will be responsible for risk, governance, capability and operational efficiency of the regional financial lines team, whilst coordinating the development and implementation of risk governance policies and processes that are consistent with the organisation's risk appetite and business objectives, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You'll be developing and implementing risk management strategies and controls and ensure that risks are appropriately run and controlled, while encouraging a risk-aware culture by promoting awareness and understanding of risk management principles and practices.
You will identify and assess risks across the organization, provide guidance and support on risk management matters and work closely with other departments to ensure that risk management is coordinated into all aspects of the organization's operations, monitor and report on risk, provide regular reports on risk management activities to senior partners and make recommendations for improvements. This role also entails working collaboratively with our broker network, investigating broker dissatisfaction feedback and handling risk events accordingly.

- An understanding of financial lines market and risk environment would be beneficial
- Organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines through good planning, prioritization, and time management
- Knowledge of underwriting principles and practice is desirable
- Experience of identifying and assessing risk
- Successful record of building personal credibility and managing relationships with key stakeholders

- Starting salary circa £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
