MFL Teacher in Secondary School based near Woking
Starting October– Long term contract
Pay – £130 - £230 (depending on experience)
Location – Woking
Hours - 8:00am – 4:00pm Temporary full-time
Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join our team in October. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French and Spanish to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of languages and culture while contributing to the academic success and personal development of our students.
About the School:
The School is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 700 students in total. The School is based in Woking. The school was graded as a Good School in its last Ofsted inspection and continues to perform well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in French and Spanish, catering to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes enthusiasm for language learning and cultural understanding.
- Implement a variety of teaching strategies and resources to facilitate language acquisition, including communicative activities, multimedia resources, and authentic materials.
- Assess student progress regularly through a range of formative and summative assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a cohesive MFL curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
- Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, such as language clubs, cultural events, and international exchanges, to enhance students' language skills and cultural awareness.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related field.
- Proficiency in French and Spanish with the ability to teach these languages to a - high standard.
- Proven experience teaching MFL at the secondary level, with a track record of delivering excellent results.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting language learning and intercultural competence.
- Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in school-wide initiatives.
