A public scientific, cultural and professional establishment (EPSCP) under the authority of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, it comprises eight campuses and three institutes throughout France.

Its primary mission: to train engineers capable of designing environmentally-friendly products and systems, as well as controlling industrial organization by controlling risks and costs.

Job environment

LaBoMaP (Materials and Processes Laboratory) is a research laboratory. Since 1993, the laboratory has been involved in scientific research and partnerships in the field of manufacturing processes, in particular the material removal machining process.

The laboratory's activities are largely based on scientific experimentation, using high-tech facilities. Modeling physical phenomena is also an important part of the researchers' work.

Applied topics cover all industrial sectors, such as automotive, aeronautics, aerospace, nuclear, biomedical, watchmaking, where the relationship between materials and the manufacturing process is of paramount importance.

As part of the ANR CLAS AAP Labcom_2021 project, LaBoMaP is conducting an ambitious 54-month research program with industrial partner SAFE Metal, a steel foundry group. The aim of this joint laboratory is to develop innovation in the foundry field, enabling SAFE Metal to position itself as a leading specialist in cast steel worldwide, and LaBoMaP to become a major player in national research in this field.
