Principal Structural Engineer - Cheshire

Salary: Up to £85,000
I am seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Structural Engineer to join a prestigious Structural Engineering consultancy based in Cheshire, specialising in Extreme Loads and Blast Engineering. Known for their expertise, this consultancy handles high-profile projects across the UK and internationally, focusing on extreme load scenarios.
Qualifications and Experience Required for this Principal Structural Engineer include:
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE) or equivalent experience to meet chartered review requirements
Strong leadership skills with experience working directly with clients and project teams to devise innovative solutions for complex challenges
Proficient in steel and concrete design according to Eurocodes or UFC 3-340-02
Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of project delivery
Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach
Willingness to undergo UK security vetting (SC level or higher)Key Responsibilities for this Principle Structural Engineer:
Collaborate with clients to define project requirements, influence results, and deliver customized solutions
Work closely with design teams to develop strategies for protective designs
Lead design responsibilities, including specification development, compliance monitoring, and site visits
Support Tier 1, 2, and 3 contractors in meeting project specifications
Collaborate with manufacturers on new product developments
Manage project workload to meet deadlines while upholding quality standards
Conduct detailed structural calculations, including hand calculations, finite element analysis, and computational fluid dynamics
Perform vehicle dynamics assessments for hostile vehicle mitigation design
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, including graduates and senior engineers
Participate in senior management activitiesSalary and Benefits:
