About the role: Nursery Teacher: A warm and welcoming community school in Islington, London, is looking for a dedicated Nursery Teacher to join our team from January 2025. This role offers you the chance to make a real impact within a school that celebrates diversity, values respect and resilience, and encourages every child to express themselves as unique individuals.As our Nursery Teacher, you will inspire and nurture young learners, creating a fun, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Working closely with other staff members, you’ll deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that encourage exploration and curiosity. The role will involve planning and assessing lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, integrating playful, interactive methods to help children develop key social, emotional, and academic skills.

As part of our commitment to holistic education, our nursery students enjoy regular Forest School sessions every Wednesday, engaging with nature and building essential skills in the outdoors. We are proud to provide excellent support for children with additional needs, thanks to our dedicated SENCO and strong SEND provision. With a class size of just 16 nursery students, you’ll have the chance to deliver personalised learning experiences, creating lasting connections with each child.

Application Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification, with a specialisation in Early Years or Foundation Stage education preferred.
• Proven experience in teaching nursery or early years within a UK-based school setting, demonstrating a clear understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and experience working with children who have special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities, including collaboration with SENCOs and support staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling positive interactions with children, staff, and parents to support each child’s learning journey and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons that cater to the needs of each child.
• Foster a safe and supportive environment, promoting respect and positive behavior.
• Regularly assess and track student progress, using observations and assessments to adapt lesson plans and provide individualised support, ensuring each child reaches developmental milestones in line with the EYFS framework.
• Work closely with the SENCO and support staff to meet the needs of children with SEN.
• Build positive relationships with families to encourage involvement in their child’s learning journey.
