We are looking for an Upgrade Consultant (m/w/d) with responsibility for Southern Europe with expertise in Systems upgrades to drive sales, optimize execution, and support upgrade projects. You can be based in France, Spain, Portugal or Italy (#LI-Hybrid).

You will support sales in customer engagement, scope definition, FEED studies, and estimating project hours, collaborating with the Project Manager to define execution strategies for upgrade projects. Applying your expertise in high-complexity upgrades, you will work with project teams to drive successful execution. With a continuous improvement approach, you’ll capture lessons learned to optimize future upgrades and play a key role in developing other upgrade engineers through training, coaching, and mentoring.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Applying deep expertise in DeltaV and Ovation upgrades, Windows OS, virtualization, and infrastructure network architectures to support complex upgrade projects.
  • Building strong relationships with Southern Region Lifecycle Services teams, establishing yourself as the regional Upgrade Technical Expert.
  • Owning upgrade activities, using resources and methodologies to reduce costs while meeting schedules and quality standards.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to customers, building relationships and providing expert guidance on upgrade discussions.
  • Supporting sales by engaging customers, understanding their needs, and proposing innovative, cost-effective upgrade solutions.
  • Staying informed on market trends and Emerson’s strategic direction, aligning upgrade capabilities to meet evolving business needs.
  • Leading, training, and mentoring other engineers, fostering continuous improvement and strong teamwork.

Who You Are:

You use customer insights to drive the development of new offerings, articulating messages in a way that is broadly understandable and persisting in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles.

Additionally, you serve as a liaison between partner groups, use financial analysis to evaluate and act on strategic opportunities, and masterfully match people to assignments.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Technical expertise at the level of an Engineering degree or comparable experience.
  • Proven experience in a Project / Lifecycle Services role within a complex process industry.
  • Expertise in DCS Systems upgrades.
  • Experience in direct customer interaction and leading improvement initiatives.
  • Fluency in English and an additional local language (French, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese).
  • Ability to work independently and travel up to 20% of the time across the Southern Region within defined timelines.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Certified as SMO (Service Management Office) DeltaV Upgrade Expert.
  • Working towards SMO DeltaV Virtualization Professional and Upgrade Associate certifications.
  • Pursuing SMO Cybersecurity Professional certification.
  • Experience in an international matrix organization.
