SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH - Medway
Full-time, immediate start - Monday to Friday, 8.15am to 3.30pm - £83.33 per day
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of secondary-aged students with SEMH (Social and Emotional Mental Health)? Do you have a heart for helping individuals reach their full potential in education? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an SEN Teaching Assistant within the Medway area to support children with SEMH!
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils in specialised support units and providing one-to-one assistance to those with SEMH.
Role & Responsibilities - SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide personalised support and guidance to students with diverse needs
* Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) / Personalised Education Plans (PEP)
* Manage behaviour in an effective, pupil-centric way, in-line with school behaviour policies & those set out in the pupil's PEP/IEP
* Encourage and motivate pupils. Good behaviour management is a must as it can be quite challenging.
* Work with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to effectively support the pupil in their development
Requirements:
* Own or be willing to obtain a child-only Enhanced DBS Disclosure on the Update Service, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
* CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
* Legal right to work in the UK
