About the role:
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) who specializes in supporting children with challenging behaviours. As an SEN TA, you will be working with children in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them to access the curriculum and develop socially, emotionally, and academically. You will be providing tailored one-on-one and small group support, fostering positive behaviour, and encouraging students to reach their full potential.
This full-time role is perfect for someone who has a passion for working with children with behavioural needs and wants to make a meaningful impact on their development. You will be part of a supportive team, working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create a positive and structured learning environment.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working with children who have challenging behaviours or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
• Experience in a school or educational setting, ideally within Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
• A passion for supporting children with special educational needs and behavioural challenges.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and group support to children with challenging behaviours.
• Assist in the implementation of behaviour management strategies tailored to individual pupils.
• Support the classroom teacher in differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEN.
• Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to monitor progress and set achievable goals.
• Encourage and promote positive behaviour and emotional development in pupils.
