The Surgical Technologist performs as a member of surgical team providing technical patient care and hands-on expertise in the handling of surgical instruments and equipment during routine and emergency cases. Assembles and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies for all specialties using surgeon preference cards as a reference. Sets up and maintains sterile field while anticipating and responding to the surgeon's intra-operative needs. Functions as 2nd assistant during surgical procedure. Understands and maintains current knowledge and practice of hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Graduate of an approved one year surgical technologist program Knowledgeable in aseptic technique, scrub skills, anatomy, and surgical procedures Knowledgeable and purpose of correct medications and solutions used on the surgical field
Preferred 6 months of previous surgical tech experience Certified Surgical Technologist
