Buyer (Nutraceuticals)

We are seeking an experienced full-time Buyer for Nutraceuticals/Dietary Supplement consumer packaged goods to join our team here in our beautiful San Pedro, CA office.

Summary: The Buyer is an integral part of our procurement team. They are responsible for executing the day-to-day purchasing activities required for nutraceuticals and the production of dietary supplements and health & wellness products. Accuracy, attention to detail, and critical thinking are some of the key traits required for success in this role.

Daily Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Regularly review PO Request Log to identify items to order
• Accurately enter Purchase Orders (PO) in an efficient and timely manner in NetSuite ERP system
• Follow up every 48 hours to ensure acknowledgements and order confirmations have been received
• Create effective relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure our customer service needs are met
• Apply effective critical thinking to processes and work
• Consistently follow up to make sure Purchase Orders are on track to deliver on time
• Trouble shoot and rectify any past due dates and communicate to team of any issues
• Enter all confirmed delivery dates in the NetSuite ERP system
• Maintain initial and updated paper and electronic files in an organized fashion
• Obtain and save all vendor records, including contacts and pricing
• Immediately obtain and save proof of delivery (POD) from Co-manufacturer (Coman) or delivery recipient
• In NetSuite, process the receipt of the nutraceutical raw materials and/or components at various Comans, in order for AP to pay their invoice
• Work with Account Payable (AP) on invoices and any discrepancies - everything must match up before it can be paid
• Create SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures/work instructions)
• Other duties as needed/assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferred
• 3+ years' of experience in purchasing for nutraceutical, cosmetic or similiar Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
• NetSuite ERP system experience
• Understanding of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures
• Knowledge of inventory control policies and procedures
• Proficient in Excel, G-Suite, and Microsoft Word
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and under tight deadlines
• Very strong accuracy, focus, and attention to details
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective critical thinking
• Reliable and dependable
• Able to effectively manage priorities and workflow

Working Conditions

• This role works in a collaborative indoor office setting with desks, computers, stairs, telephones and a copy machine.

Pay Grade:

• $35.00 to $38.00 per hour depending on experience
