Job Description

**Job Title:** Respiratory Therapist

**Job Specialty:** Respiratory Therapy

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Nights 7p-7a

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 3 years

**License:** Current NH Respiratory Care Practitioner license

**Certifications:** Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist, BLS certification

**Must-Have:** Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and a graduate of an approved AMA school of Respiratory Therapy.

**Job Description:**

- Draw and analyze arterial blood gases
- Perform patient assessments and manage Therapist Driven Protocols
- Undertake continuous mechanical ventilator management
- Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and chest physical therapy
- Administer oxygen and provide hyperinflation and aerosol therapies
- Conduct screening pulmonary function studies and emergency procedures
- Perform and analyze arterial blood gas procedures
- Deliver care for patients of all ages, including critical care and emergency situations
- Communicate effectively with patients, peers, and coworkers
- Maintain and order respiratory therapy supplies
- Manage documentation using an electronic medical record system
- Support teamwork and stay informed on the latest industry trends
- Fulfill charge duties as needed, including workload distribution and prioritization
- Present one educational topic per year to the Respiratory Therapy staff
- Distribute workload and address interdepartmental and departmental issues
- Develop RT schedules and provide educational in-services
- Conduct interviews for RT applicants
- Perform Pulmonary Function testing and direct patient care
- Maintain responsibility for storing RT supplies and performing CPR as needed
