Job Description
**Job Title:** Dual Modality CT/DX Technician
**Job Specialty:** Radiologic Technology
**Job Duration:** 18 weeks
**Shift:** Night, 3x12s, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Friday/Saturday/Sunday
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Hospital experience in ER setting required; GE & Siemens experience preferred
**License:** ARRT (R)(CT)
**Certifications:** BLS (AHA or ARC)
**Must-Have:** Experience in both CT and Diagnostic Radiology; hospital experience in an ER setting
**Job Description:**
- Perform procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Operate CT scanners and associated equipment, including post-processing stations, IV contrast injectors, and patient monitoring equipment.
- Examine requests and verify orders for each assigned patient, consulting with the Radiologist for any questions or discrepancies.
- Identify patients using two identifiers and explain procedures to them.
- Prepare patients for procedures, record medical history, and review EMRs for pertinent clinical history.
- Administer IV contrast as per protocols and document type and amount.
- Evaluate the technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist as needed.
- Recognize abnormal anatomy and process additional images or measurements as required.
- Inform appropriate personnel of any changes in a patient's condition and initiate life support measures when necessary.
- Assist in medical emergencies and perform CT scanning during invasive procedures.
- Practice sterile techniques and adhere to infection control policies during procedures.
- Obtain medications or contrast material as directed by a licensed practitioner.
- Follow radiation safety principles to protect yourself, employees, patients, and family members.
- Report malfunctioning equipment and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Collaborate with other medical personnel during exams or services associated with CT scans.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies.
- Involves occasional standing, walking, and sitting, with frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling.
- May be exposed to various physical conditions and must adhere to radiation safety guidelines.
**Education:** Graduate of an accredited two-year program in Radiologic Technology.
