Job Description
**Job Title:** Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT
**Job Specialty:** Pediatrics
**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks
**Shift:** Nights 3x12 Hr
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36
**Experience:** Two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
**License:** Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
**Certifications:**
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (American Heart Association) within 3 months of hire
**Must-Have:**
- Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
- English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing
**Job Description:**
- Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff.
- Record treatment information and patient responses in computerized medical records.
- Serve as a resource person to medical staff for respiratory care expertise.
- Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitor patients effectively.
- Provide age-appropriate care to patients of varying age groups.
- Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained to standards.
- Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records diligently.
- Participate as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the department.
**Skills and Abilities:**
- Proficient in procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy.
- Capable of operating and repairing respiratory equipment.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac systems tailored to patient age.
- Ability to interpret relevant information to identify patient needs.
- Work effectively under stress and maintain good interpersonal relationships with coworkers and staff.
- Basic computer skills.
**Special Requirement:**
- If hired without current RRT registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care, obtain at a minimum the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential within 90 days of hire. Complete the RRT credential within 12 months of hire.
