Job Description

Job Description: Assist engineers and maintenance with design, development, and technical tasks Analyze data to identify process improvements and resolve technical issues Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations Contribute to product/system development and conduct tests to validate changes Identify areas for improvement in engineering processes Support the implementation of new systems/software to enhance productivity Maintain records of changes and outcomes Manage GMs schedule and coordinate meetings/travel Draft communications and prepare meeting materials Attend meetings, take minutes, and follow up on actions Organize and maintain engineering records Monitor project progress and track tasks to ensure timely completion Coordinate resources (equipment, materials) for projects Act as a liaison between engineering and other departments Manage technical supplies and inventory Order materials as required for projects Ensure compliance with health and safety standards Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas Report safety hazards, accidents, and incidents Apply quality standards and maintain GMP Comply with site-specific food safety standards and report hazards Assess strengths and areas for improvement and take action Stay updated on innovations and technical advancements Promote teamwork and leadership skills Ensure team members know how to find information when youre unavailable Follow company principles and lead by example in behavior and work ethic Skills & Experience: 2-5 Years' relevant experience Strong understanding of technical drawings and schematics Knowledge of fault finding and equipment testing methods In-depth understanding of health and safety (H&S) procedures and safe working practices Technical expertise in production processes, including equipment, raw materials, moulds, and downstream equipment Familiarity with relevant quality systems and certifications Solid administrative skills, including managing documentation and records Effective problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting equipment and processes Experience in installing parts and related equipment Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively Capable of making quick, decisive actions, when necessary, especially in urgent situations High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and conflict resolution Minimum requirements: 2-5 years relevant experience Grade 12 Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
