POSITION: REGULAR FULL-TIME SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST DEPARTMENT: FINANCE Position Summary Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for completing the monthly financial statement packages, preparing MIS trial balance submissions, monitoring of Capital spend and related processes, and assisting with cash/treasury related functions. This role will also help lead the annual audit processes including oversight of lead sheet preparation & inventory count coordination. There are various annual reporting requirements including (but not limited to) the BPSA consolidation and T3010 Charitable Tax Returns. The suited individual for this role will have strong business acumen, a strong understanding of the GAAP Financial Statement principles, and the ability to build and maintain complex reporting and analysis tools that aid in making sound business recommendations. Education Requirements Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field Mandatory Qualifications Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Hospital setting with relevant/transferable experience Professional CPA designation required/in progress (candidate enrolled in later stages of program preferred) Excellent computer skills and knowledge in financial software programs, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.) Primary Responsibilities Capital Monitoring & Reporting: (30 %) Annual budgeting Process Monthly Capital tracking & reporting Maintaining Lease Schedules HIRF & Capital expenditure survey reporting Ensuring adherence to Capital processes & policies Treasury Functions: (20 %) Approving weekly payment runs & processing online payments Providing backup coverage for cash flow for casting, Reconciling Payment runs to bank & transferring funds Journalizing bank transactions Providing support & backup for Basware related processes Month End Processes: (25 %) Preparing monthly various journal entries Completing various monthly reconciliations Assisting with review of Jr. Analysts reconciliations Financial Statement Reporting, Annual Audit, & Other Reporting: (15 %) Preparing monthly Financials Preparing Annual Audit Financial Statements Liaising with auditors and providing support for the Annual Audit MIS reporting & submissions Strengthening & Streamlining Processes: (10 %) Assisting with reviews of processes and suggesting changes to strengthen & make processes more efficient Helping develop SOPs and guidance documents Mandatory Competencies Demonstrated ability to prioritize Strong technical and analytical aptitude Excellent communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, decision making and time management skills Demonstrated ability to work both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and an independent professional Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development of self and others Reliable individual with excellent attendance record and able to work all shifts Understanding of MIS Standards is considered an asset Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority.
